Bio

Marc Macisso was born and raised in Portland, Maine. At the age of 10, influenced by his older brother who played guitar, Marc began to play the guitar. By Junior High School, he was in a local garage band playing all the 60’s radio hits by groups like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. At 16, Marc was discovered by the high school music teacher playing harmonica in the hallways at school. He was then recruited into the high school band, where he quickly learned to play the flute, clarinet and saxophone.

Marc went on to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Music. After graduating, Marc headed to Los Angeles, where he still resides today.

Since living in Los Angeles, Marc’s vocals, sax, flute and harmonica have complimented many television shows, commercials, movies and albums. He has per-formed on albums by Bette Midler, Jessie Colin Young, Michael Bolton , and “Year of the Cat” Al Stewart, with whom he still tours with. He’s appeared live with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Steve Winwood, Carole King, Chaka Kahn, Tito Puente, Billy Preston, Peter White, Sheena Easton, Michael McDonald, The Rippingtons, Dionne Warwick, the Doobie Brothers, Al Stewart, and many more.

In May of 2015, Marc completed a United Kingdom tour with Al Stewartstrong> which included two performances at The Royal Albert Hall in London. He continues to be a full-time member of Al Stewart’s band and in October of 2022, he will tour once again with Al Stewart in Europe and in Tel Aviv, Israel at the Hanger.

Marc has recorded 6 studio albums in a blues, jazz and R&B style, and continues to perform under his own name mostly in California, Florida and his beloved Maine.

When Marc wasn’t playing his saxophone for the stars, he was teaching music at the Palmdale School District. Marc recently retired after 30 years of teaching band and orchestra to middle school age children.

Marc is focusing on a solo club performance with the expectation of performing at venues in CA, ME and FL. Showcasing his vocal and horn talents, backed with mu-sic tracks, Marc is bringing a party and dance experience wherever he performs. The results have been overwhelming and he has been brought back for repeat dates wherever he plays.
